Transformation of a former railway site into a contemporary circus arts academy.

Tagged brick walls, overgrown work pits, and dilapidated roofs mark the prolonged neglect of a roundhouse in southern Leipzig, once a vital part of the Bavarian Station’s locomotive depot.

The project aims to transform this former railway site into a contemporary circus arts academy. Through targeted structural changes and respectful extensions, the hangar will become a cultural hub for the new neighborhood.

Once converted into a circus arts school, the roundhouse will offer Leipzig various cultural exchange opportunities, including seminars, circus-related training, free sessions, local employment for youth and the elderly, community life with a café, and public performances by students or invited artists.
