By creating the architectural design, we wanted to make this structure unique to Bali – the villas float on top of each other, overlapping and adjoining each other.
When we embarked on the task of creating the architectural design for this structure, our primary goal was to make it a unique addition to Bali’s architectural landscape. Initially, we named the complex Hanging Gardens, as the villas seem to be floating on top of each other, overlapping and adjoining one another. The consoles on the first-floor form canopies over the courtyards with swimming pools. However, as we delved deeper into the intricacies of each villa’s design, we realized that they are, in fact, five stories, each one told by an architect.
Our vision was to create a living testament to Bali’s rich culture, natural beauty, and architectural heritage. To achieve this, we were inspired by our own experiences and molded their designs around a deep respect for the site, the terrain, religion, climate, and the orientation of the villas. The result is a collection of villas that are built to allow visitors to relish Bali’s breathtaking views. Each villa boasts a large terrace that provides an uninterrupted view of the sunset and endless rice paddies. Additionally, the living rooms in each villa offer a vantage point to appreciate the natural beauty of Bali.
One of the key features of the Five Stories complex is that each villa has a distinct layout, with a variety of interior design solutions. Our primary objective was to create a unique interior style that harmoniously combines cosines, the latest trends, and a touch of Bali’s distinctiveness. This was achieved through the use of large atriums in the living room, windows in the bathrooms, and spiral staircases, among other design elements. We worked tirelessly to ensure that each villa was unique and had its own identity. No two villas are alike, and every villa has a distinct personality. Every detail of the design, from the location of the villa to the furniture, was meticulously crafted to create a sense of harmony and balance. The result is a collection of villas that complement the beauty of Bali and its natural surroundings.
One of the ways in which we sought to achieve this was through the incorporation of large windows and open spaces. This allows guests to appreciate Bali’s natural surroundings, both indoors and outdoors. In every villa, the indoor and outdoor spaces blend seamlessly, creating a sense of continuity between the two. We also made sure that each villa had its own private garden, adding to the natural ambiance of the complex. This way, guests can immerse themselves in the tranquility of Bali’s natural beauty and enjoy a peaceful retreat.
The Five Stories complex in Bali is not just a collection of villas. It is a living testament to Bali’s rich culture, natural beauty, and architectural heritage. The unique design and attention to detail that went into its creation are apparent in every aspect of the complex. The architects’ vision was to create a collection of villas that complemented the beauty of Bali and allowed visitors to appreciate its natural surroundings. We hope that all those who visit will appreciate the unique design and the attention to detail that went into its creation.
